I met Mervyn at a Christmas dance held between my school and Chigwell in 1962.  We corresponded for bit and met up breaking my boarding school rules! We didn't keep in touch and life took over. I recently discovered him on Facebook but hesitated to get in touch.  I then came across his obituary and felt very sad that he had been ill for so long and has died. I remember him as a friendly, warm and talented teenager   I'm glad that he had a close and supportive family and send you my deepest sympathy.  He will be much missed.  Helen Thomas (nee Williams)
