I am very sorry indeed to learn of your father Mervyn’s death, and offer you my sincere sympathy and condolences at this time of your loss. I liked your father a lot, and we always had a very jolly chat on all sorts and sundry of topics -St Edward’s, John Betjeman, music, of all sorts and varieties and periods, recording technology etc. etc. along with cups of coffee, after I’d taken him monthly Holy Communion.
